Hoping to introduce a series of pedestal furniture with clean lines without sharp edges, Eero Saarinen created the tulip table in 1956. The piece, made of fiberglass base and luxurious walnut or rosewood table top, gave a faux appearance of single material development. The tedium of legs and round surfaces, typical of the era’s furniture design, was not apparent in the Tulip range. Instead, the table revealed a slender, elegant stem like pedestal which flowed into an appealing, appealing organic tabletop.
An inspirational designer, Saarinen died very young, leaving behind a family and a blossoming career. Eero Saarinen’s designs are now recognized around the world, his unique style unmistakable.
The stunning HomeQ replica of Saarinen’s Tulip table fuses quality modern materials and superior design to envelop the demand for a product that is practical and undeniably stylish.
